New Elite Xbox has 3 red rings at start up?

Q: I just bought a new xbox 360 elite, it works fine and everything but randomly sometimes whenever i go to start it up after not playing for a day or two, it has three red rings, i disconnect the power plug going to the back of it and re-connect it and

A: Replace it ASAP.
You don't want a console that's going to be faulty especially as you just got it.
