How to profile to a new Xbox 360 console?

Q: I have two profile in my current Xbox 360 and I bought a new console. How do I transfer one profile to the new console without deleting everything in my old console?

A: 1.Just take your old HDD and place it on your new console and recover your gamertag.
or 2.Use a transfer cable to transfer the data on one HDD to your new one.
