You can use this no matter the language. Just download for PC or MAC and it's just image files. You replace your background and icon images.

For PC: Right-click on the icon you want to change. Properties > Customize tab. Change "Folder Icon" to whatever image you like from the IKEA download. Right-click on your desktop > Properties > Appearance tab > Effects button > check the Use Large Icons button

Arrange your icons onto your "shelves". Done.

This works for "My Documents, "IE", and "My Computer". Right click on the "My Documents" Icon (or others) and select "create shortcut". This will create a new icon on your desktop. You can change the image associated with the new icon per ebarrett3's instructions. Delete the original icon/shortcut (MS will give you a warning message that tells you how to get it back). I can't delete the Recycle Bin shortcut though.
