Q: An old friend of mine showed me some sort of program I could download that allowed me to play games from consoles such as Super Nintendo. Unfortunately, I forgot what this was called and wondered if you had any suggestions.
A: You're probably thinking about an emulator.
I use snes9x, here's the website :)
http://www.emulator-zone.com/doc.php/sne s/
the website also has a whole bunch of emulators for other systems
(GBA, N64 etc.)
Here's
Released in 1993, the top-down action RPG featured some of the nicest and clearest graphics I had seen on the SNES. The game was unique not for it’s graphics though but for the fact that you could play Secret of Mana Multiplayer where the second or third players could drop in and out of the game at any time rather than having to join the game at the same time
Interestingly, Hiromichi Tanaka, the main designer of Final Fantasy III, wanted to create a seamless battle system that had no separate battle screen and was not menu-driven when working on Final Fantasy IV, and since Final Fantasy IV was not going in that direction, he changed development teams to work on the action RPG Secret of Mana instead.
# 4 – Super Mario All Stars
Personally, Marios greatest outing, Super Mario World was released in 1990 and shares similar gameplay mechanics with the previous titles in the series but introduces several new elements. In addition to the running and jumping moves found in past games, the player can float with the aid of special items and execute new types of jumps such as the spin jump. It also featured the first appearance of one of my favorite characters, Yoshi! The little dinosaur came in one size but four different colours depending on his abilities at that point and was Marios steed of choice throughout a lot of the game.
Coinstar's Redbox kiosks are set to hold "game night" next week, with a free one-night game rental.
To take advantage of the offer, customers need to visit the Redbox site between Feb. 26 and Mar. 1 and reserve a game online.
The process goes as follows: on the site, Redbox lists the games that it offers for the Microsoft Xbox, Nintendo Wii, and the Sony PlayStation 3. The Redbox inventory is strictly limited; you won't find much more than AAA titles listed among the offerings, which include Super Mario Bros. Wii, Soul Calibur 5, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3, Battlefield, 3, ansd Skyrim, among others.
After a user clicks on a title, Redbox then asks you to enter your ZIP code to find a list of kiosks that stock the game near you. After you've selected one, you'll need to log in or otherwise provide payment information; although the first night's rental is free, if you hold the game for more than 24 hours, a normal $2 daily rental fee applies. last year, Redbox increased its rental fees from a $1 daily rate to the current rates .
