M-audio studio monitors?

Q: I have some BX8a speakers, and the right one is really loud and clear. Then when I pan everything to the left, it's all muffled and hard to hear anything except for the bass. Is this normal?

A: No. Everything should be crystal clear through both channels. There could be one of many reasons why it's doing this. The speaker cone might be damaged or it might be something wrong with the internal electronics. Is it wired up properly? Check that first
