Q: I am looking to switch from an HP laptop to potentially a mac. I saw on apples website that i can get a refurbished 13" Aluminum Macbook Pro for $899 and a three year applecare plan for $250. Together thats just about equal to a new 13" aluminum

An AppleInsider report by Kasper Jade Friday quotes Concord Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo as claiming that new MacBook Air models are on the horizon. A few days ago, Appletell reported that new iMacs may be coming soon. It now looks like the MacBook Air is going to get a June refresh as well.
Despite its relatively weak processor, the MacBook Air is pretty speedy thanks to its solid state drive. The new MacBook Air models would use Intel’s Sandy Bridge microprocessors, integrated Intel graphics, and the Thunderbolt I/O port—all features the MacBook Pro received when it was refreshed earlier this year. It’s also likely that there will be news soon concerning the MacBook and whether it will be refreshed as well or dropped entirely.
As Debbie quite rightly pointed out, sales of the 11.6-inch and 13.3-inch MacBook Air models got off to a flying start last October with some 1 million units being clenched within Q1, making it one of Apple’s most popular Mac offerings, well that was the case until the MacBook Pro refresh got underway.
