While we’re waiting for the next iPad to be announced – hopefully sometime in the first week of March – let’s sit back and speculate about the timeframe for the next versions of Macintosh models. I figured the Mac Pro 3GHz quad-core would be much faster than my old G5 dual 1.8GHz, but it turned out differently. I ran some tests and found the G5 fares well --or the Mac Pro fares bad-- when you compare these two in real-world circumstances.
