Q: Okay so i have a ibook G4 laptop that was given to me as a gift. recently it has started running slow, and there is a clicking noise. Im not good with laptops so i have no idea what is going on. Could someone give me possibilities of what it is and possible
A: The clicking sound most likely would be the hard drive. Might need to be replaced now if not soon.
Apple Ibook G4 , simply equipped with the OSX 10.5.8 Leopard. It has over 512 MB in Memory, Over 30 GB of Hard Drive (minimum). It has Itunes and comprehensible media center, it entails DVD/CD Drive Combination.. USB ports for flash cards, built in Wi-fi. This unique laptop has a 12″ inch screen as shown in the picture below. This is a fully reconfigured machine, runs good. This laptop has Microsoft Office, so you can use Word/Excel. A/C charger also is included. Wie schon beim PowerBook 100 überlies man die Fertigung des Mobilrechners einem Mittbewerber. IBM verstand sich nicht zuletzt Dank der berühmten ThinkPad-Serie auf das notwendige Handwerk. Doch war IBM zum damaligen Zeitpunkt Konkurrent und auch Partner zugleich. Zusammen mit Apple und Motorola bildete man die PowerPC-Allianz – Basis für das RISC-Design der Prozessoren, die bei Apple über eine Dekade zum Einsatz kamen.
Ein großer Erfolg war dem PowerBook 2400c nicht vergönnt, kein Jahr später im März 1998 flog das Subnotebook aus dem Programm. Allein der japanische Markt nahm das Modell mit Freude auf, so dass im Land der aufgehenden Sonne gar eine zweite, schnellere Variante erhältlich war.
Übrigens: Der Prozessor befand sich auf einer Tochter-Karte und konnte so ausgetauscht werden. Aufgrund dieser erfreulichen Tatsache gab es von zahlreichen Drittanbietern CPU-Upgrades, die den betagten PowerPC 603e durch einen G3-Prozessor ersetzen. Viele PowerBook 2400c konnten so auch noch Jahre später annähernd auf der Höhe der Zeit eingesetzt werden.
