...A FILM-MAKER who is credited with getting David Gilmour his first gig with Pink Floyd has penned his first fictional novel.
Nigel Lesmoir-Gordon, 68, of The Green, Clophill who made music videos for the likes of 10CC, Squeeze and Donovan as well as cult film Syd Barrett’s First Trip, wanted to write a novel, but couldn’t think of a plot until the idea for the first chapter came to him in a dream.
He said: “I have always wanted to be a novelist but I didn’t have an idea.
“So I went to bed and I said to the universe give me an idea and I had the first chapter when I woke up.
“It just came to me in a dream.”
Nigel started his creative life as a poet and writer, but went into film-making when he met wife Jenny and wanted to settle down.
After attending film school Nigel got a job with director Hugh Hudson, who made the legendary film Chariots Of Fire.
He said: “I worked for Hugh Hudson’s company and for some reason Hugh took a shine to me, I hung out with Donovan and The Stones.
