Q: I looking to buy a Q6600, buy to my surprise i saw two versions. The normal Q6600 at £127 and the energy efficient at £119. Both have identical specs and both comes with go stepping, i'm just curious whether the energy efficient one clocks better or

System Memory Multiplier (SPD)____ [Auto] works with 1333, I think I want 4.00D/B/C to get 1600 but it posts errors in memtest. Oddly enough 4.00A never boots with this combo. To be clear, I've never gotten any of these settings to work right unless it underclocks the memory. Underneath this SPD selection is two frequencies shown, the left column always shows 1333 as that's the AUTO setting and I believe the right shows the actual frequency, unsure on that get back to me because I realized with my 402 FSB it's showing 1340Mhz here, not in memtest of course(shows DDR1198), and it's stable. Edit: I officially suck at google, I can't find a good guide. Basically go up in small steps if you're overclocking anything. When I became an indie games developer , I was in desperate need of a server to handle bug-tracking, collaboration, source control and other miscellaneous software development duties. I had a suspicion my Q6600 PC wasn’t completely dead — I’d just used its demise as an excuse to upgrade. So, I did some troubleshooting and discovered the only thing wrong with it was dud RAM. 4GB worth of new sticks later and it was up and running. Now it’s mother to five hard drives, excluding the external back-up you see on-top (you’ll need to click to enlarge).
This box runs Windows 7, along with a WAMP (Windows-Apache-MySQL-PHP) stack for internal dev purposes. Two WordPress installations running custom themes handle bug-tracking and collaboration, while git is responsible for handling source control. A self-made build tool pulls the latest code from the repository and generates debug versions of the game and a custom security app prevents unwanted intrusions over SSH.

6 seconds!!!!! and that's on a Q6600 (not the best desktop chip nowadays but its not like its some ancient pos either). By comparison just getline without the string stream construction takes 2.3 seconds. Why on earth does this one constructor triple |
