My ti-86 calculators seems to be eating up my batteries very quickly. What could be the problem?

Q: My ti-86 did not want to turn on so I replaced the batteries with new ones and it turned on. After one day, it doesn't want to turn on again????

A: Screen Contrast. When you reset your calc it goes to default which is very dark. I lowered my TI-84 a little bit and instead of lasting a semester, its so going strong and its almost the end of 2nd semester.
