Where on a TI-83 plus graphing calculator is a button to input more than a 2nd power such as 3rd power?

Q: I haven't used a graphing calculator in 9 years but am in calculus and I have a TI-83 plus and can not figure out how to input something in more than the second power. I have questions asking for 3rd and 4th. Please help, I know I will feel stupid after

A: you can use the carrot which is right below clear eg: 1^2 = 1²
or for something to the third just press Math then the 3 key
