San Diego, CA (PRWEB) February 23, 2012
According to a recent study by Priceonomics , iPhones have better long term value and lower cost of ownership than other smartphone brands on the market. As a leader in the cell phone resale industry, Totem is able to confirm the conclusions of this study.
After 32 months on the market, an iPhone 3GS with 32GB of memory in mint condition can be sold to Totem for $133.47. Given that this model was launched in June 2009, this means the phone has retained 44.6% of its value, for an average loss of 1.7% per month. Contrast that with a more recent Android model - the HTC Thunderbolt - which was released only 11 months ago, originally selling for $249. The current resale price on Totem for a mint condition Thunderbolt is $106.20. The HTC Thunderbolt has only retained 42.7% of its value, already less than the iPhone 3GS despite being released 20 months later.
